Just picked this up from layaway today. It dates to 1975 finish isn't perfect, but definitely an AA+ shooter. Total price out the door 541.00 dollars. As I was completing the paperwork, the clerk mentioned that they had another Smith he had just pulled and placed out for sale. It is a 28-2 I put it on layaway for 430.$ out the door. Now I will be on the hunt for two pairs of factory stocks.

nice find that would be 700.00 to 900.00 on the tables of the shows around here

It's the local pawn shop in my area. It is full of wonder 9's, and other black plastic. I don't think they know how to price older Smith's. The day that I placed the 29 on layaway, they had a model 36 priced at 750$. It was super clean, but not anything special.

You may already know this, but N frame Targets with the extractor (football) cutout for the 29, and N frame Magnas with flat bottoms for the 28. Great buys!

You guys who hate "rubbers" so much, pleas PM me. I will gladly pay the shipping to remove them from your sight.

I remember giving $289.50 for my blued 29-2 6.5” bbl. back in 1977. I wish I could have afforded more but they were pretty scarce back then (and I was attending college on the GI Bill). Nice revolver, they’ll never make ‘em like that again.

Those were both Jesse James buys, were you wearing your mask? The price he had on the 36 was high. What state are you located in?
