S&W59, thank you for the reply. I just got around to taking it apart, this is what I found inside the pistol at the rear of the hammer. Looks like stones ? I have no idea what that brass piece is or if it belongs in there some where....can't find it on the parts sheet. Well, I'm getting ready to run it through the sonic cleaner and, put it back together.

All done tear down and, cleanup, parts inspection, etc. Well, the problem still persists.
Are there any signs (shiny spots) on the exterior surface of the magazine that would indicate any possible contact with the drawbar?
No luck, guess I'll have to tear it down to a bare frame.
Yes there are marks on the left side but, I tried 3 magazines from my 5906 and still have that problem.
I did not do a complete tear down, just a good field strip then it went into a sonic bath (hot) it came out very clean, air dried with compressor. Oiled it well. No luck, guess I'll have to tear it down to a bare frame.
Thank you for the replies, Steve912 that video link was very helpful.
I pulled the entire frame apart, inspected everything, nothing seemed out of spec. cleaned all the parts, oiled and reassembled it....had to put my head on the work bench, so frustrating, still that same problem. I refuse to give up, I have to figure this out. What else could cause this ? I'm going to bed, it's getting late and, my mind can't function anymore I'm spent.
On an unrelated note, can you imagine how overcharged the rounds fired in this pistol were to dislodge the anvil in a round and lodge it in the hammer area? Someone fired over-charged hand-loads in this I would wager. So hot it broke the anvil out of the bottom of a casing and lodged it in the action.
jsbethel, thank you for that info, this serial number A7562xx drops right in there. I bought this a few months ago and, have no idea what the original owner loaded this with. Guess I'll be calling the Mother Ship. The 559 was subject to a safety-related recall.
