586 with AA serial number

Can any one explain why I have a 586 4" N L frame. S#AA7***** when books show these guns starting with a 3 letter (AAA) serial # Please help

Dumb question time....

Are you sure that the 3rd character is a "7"?
Did you look under the cylinder yoke or under the butt of the gun?

I feel so dumb, and I was never a blond just a redhead, We are selling our collection, and someone was interested in the 586 and I missed the J in the prefix so it is just a common AAJ. Our collection is mostly new in the box pre 80 guns, sorry for my mistake. bobbidoll wsg-outfitters.com
