I traded for a 5904 yesterday, burned the midnight oil loading 9mm, and hit the range at 8 am.
I am a revolver man all of the way. I had reservations (and still do) about reliability of Auto's..I like this 5904 except the aluminum frame and the long trigger pull.
I loaded 100 rounds of 147 grain FMJ, with 4.0 grains of unique. That load is supposed to power the bullet at 914 fps.
After about ten test rounds, I got serious, at 15 yards,I shot my first ten rounds off hand. No combat style or two handed TV cop show weaver style, just one hand, old fashioned shooting. I let ten go not knowing where they were printing.
When I looked through the scope I was surprised to see all ten rounds in a four to five inch group in the 8&9 ring, at 9:00. The next ten rounds I used a little Kentucky windage and placed ten rounds in the 9&10 ring. 30 rounds later, I had ripped the center of the target to pieces. Now of course a few shots went out of that 5 inch circle, but all in all, I was very impressed. The long trigger pull didn't bother me at all. Tomorrow, I will go out again, and make a sight adjustment. # NICE GUN
