From the Spec Ord number, it was made the 122nd day of 1995. That works out to May 2nd, 1995. The first digit (5) is the year and the second through fourth digit (122) represent the day of the year.

I grabbed a 5906 on a whim. It is, by far, the most accurate autoloader i own. My 19-3 will tear it up, but for an auto...excellent pistol.

I sighted it in with 147 gr hollowpoint from a sandbag and never looked back. I rarely carry it, due to the weight, but when a "friendly" competition comes around, that's the one I grab. Hurts to leave the Hi-power in the safe, but I guess it's like benching your starting QB when the backup's better...

Congrats. I too use my 5906 for steel matches, but for EDC I use its little brother, a 3913. Both are sweet shooters, but the 3913 is lighter and easier to carry (for me anyway). Enjoy it safely and good health. You will be able to pass it on to your kin.
