5943 question

Is there any way to reduce the trigger pull on this Ex-Cleveland Oh. 5943 Other than sell it?

Possibly a trigger job by a good gunsmith, you can try lighter mainsprings BUT you run the risk of light primer strikes thus misfires or worse hang fires!
You can dry fire the piece with snap caps which will eventually help smooth out the trigger. But live fire is the best way.

Don't attempt it. The cost of shipping to a good gunsmith (Novak's knows the 3rd Gen guns as well as anyone) together with the cost of the job and the wait are not worth it. You will not get it down as far as you likely think it should be without serious reliability issues coming up. You can have it smoothed and barely lightened, but you will just never get it to equal an M&P or Glock in terms of pull weight.
