I picked this up a few months ago and slapped a decent 5-30 scope on it till i was able to narrow down my max range.

The problem I have and looking for some help here.

The scope goes over the charging handle and it makes it hard to put the gun into battery. I can get it pulled back but its almost like having to use one finger.

I did attempt to pick up a BCM charging handle for the ar10 and it was to damn snug in the slot. Someone suggested I sand it down.
i was not about to try to fix it.

I did contact MP and ask and got a very flippant answer about going aftermarket.

I was very surprised at that. Expecting that this was my first long range gun and that the 6.5 was a very good round to shoot, i assumed the experts might have this very common problem also and looked at it from the consumer point of view.

It is making me wonder if i should just find a new home for this gun. So far my max range locally is 200 yards. Hitting steel at this range was not even a problem. or a challenge.

Hoping someone else here has had the same situation and has a idea. thanks in advance.

Looking to pushing this out to 800 yards later in the summer..

the early BCM charging handles had problems in the gun, but the newer ones are supposed to work fine. Might contact BCM to see if they can do anything. There are also other brands that work fine as well.

Contact Tombstone Tactical, Phoenix AZ. They have a good selection of charging handles and AR-10s. They may have a SW MP-10 in the store and can see if one of their extended charging handles would fit.

I was in their store looking for one for my RRAs AR-10. 'no joy'. They have a website. Good luck. lg
