I would possibly try to get it if you can. I understand because i have been there too in the past. Things will get better in the future for you i'm sure. I had to stop buying guns to raise a family and now that there gone and left the nest its finally my turn to get back to doing what i always wanted to do.

I'm was retired at 52yo and now i'm 60yo and starting to enjoy life, what little i have left of it.
I went looking for a new 1911 SA loaded and found a shelf of new S&W's in 41mag for just $699 each when they list for $1,161. The models 57 with 4" and 6'' barrels, plus the model 58 with a 4'' barrel all in nickel finish are just $699 each. I couldn't pass that up, no way since i always wanted a 41mag. I have the model 57 with the 6" barrel and the model 58 with the 4'' barrel but now i also want the model 57 with the 4'' barrel too. Right now any N Frame S&W turns my crank and it being in 41mag is a big plus too.

My new years resolution is to purchase one gun a month minimum. I started in december to get a head start with a german walther P1 in 9mm luger, my january purchase was a S&W M57 6" 41mag in nickel, my febuary purchase was a S&W m58 4" 41mag in nickel, My march purchases are a ruger super blackhawk 44mg w/10 1/2'' barrel($349) and a ruger vaquero 45 long colt w/7 1/2'' barrel in polished stainless ($329) but are flawless in like new condition. Now i'm starting to think about my april purchase. Bill

Life gets better as we get older. I saved and saved and was lucky to have a job "sometimes" but i was happy to have 25 cents for a soda with my sandwich for lunch at that time. Now all the many years of struggling is paying off. Now i'm too old to enjoy it go figure.

BB, I hope you are not too old to enjoy it!! I am 74 and retired for the second time a few months ago. My mother passed away in December at 94 and my dad is going strong at 97+. Sometimes I wounder if I can handle another 20/25 years!!!!!!
I get a laugh out of books and shows that talk about 70 year old people cripping around on a cane, and being feeble.
I certainly can't do what I was able to at 50, but I can do most of what I want to. No more going to Canton to the Trade Days, and walking all day, and a few things like that.

Hi,
Isn't bright spot pawn on Magnolia in Riverside. Close to Central ave? I will swing buy this weekend and hope its still availiable. I don't have a model 57 but love magnums.
Thanks you the tip,
Howard

Godbless your dad i lost mine at 72 and my mom just passed away at 92. But the sad part is i lost my oldest brother at 43 and my second oldest brother at 52. Now i'm the youngest at 60 and still kicking. I feel blessed. I have a 401k which i just received in monthly payments I'm just ok right now if i watch my spending and don't go over board. But i'm going shooting now every chance i get. I'm all setup for reloading too. Maybe little by little i may get into bullet casting. I am changing over to progressive presses one caliber at a time too. I can't walk the way i once did and do take a day to rest sometimes but i do what i can when i feel up to it. We only pass this way once so i'm riding harder when i can. Bill

Now back to the post if you like magnums and have the 357mag and the 44mags why not have the 41mag too? I think its gaining in popularity right now too. The price at $550 is great too I see these on the net for $800 to $900 and above.

You're killing me!!!! I love 41 mags and live in Riverside also. But I don't have the bucks right now either. Story of my life, the guns I'm searching for only pop up when I'm out of spare cash. lol
