I have a question. I have a 617 6 shot no dash. Great shape. Came with finger groove combats. Is this a desirable gun or just a shooter? Combats have a date but no sn#.

I think the fact that it doesn't have the IL makes it very desirable to some. The combats add some bucks to its value also.

I have one, bought new in 1993 I think...great shooter,combats are great. mine has had the devil shot out of it, still going strong...check the going prices on them,its hard to believe! mine also has a date and no SN. inside the stocks...GREAT revolver!

A clean 617 (no dash) with original FG Combat stocks is easily $1000.00,
With box n docs quite a bit more.
The 4" version gets a slight premium,
there were a few made without the barrel underlug which get a big premium.
