Got one last summer. I really like it. Don't get a chance to shoot it much, but it works pretty good.
I love to shoot my 4" with magnas !

I own one. Bought it new for $349.99 Who knows how many 22s down the pipe. Never a problem, great gun. I dropped it once out of a junky holster.
Last year. I shot several hundred at 1 sitting. It still is accurate, but I need glasses today. The gun is the same.

I have a 4", and a 6". They are both excellent.
got a great deal on this no dash (w. box) a few weeks ago. it's a real sweet shooter.

Just a plain old 6" 617.
If I had an Ashland S. S. without the full lug barrel, EVERYONE would already know about it! That's what a 617 should be.

Well here are mine, Bought the 1st 4 inch one yrs ago for under $300 did some trading for the others over the yrs.. Also have a 4 inch 617-1 not pictured
My 617 no dash was my first new S&W purchased just after I turned 21. 8 3/8ths inch full target options. It is much more accurate than I can shoot it most days.

The 4" 617 no-dash I mentioned buying in an earlier post to this thread arrived a few days ago and its serial number is fairly close to that of my 6". I'm wondering if anyone can make an educated guess as to how far apart their production dates are - one is BES3287 and the other is BES3516.

Ed....all I can tell you for sure is that had I seen that 4-inch before you did....I would have it now and you wouldn't.
Anyway...I have two 317 no-dashes that were purchased from two different sources and they are 476 numbers apart. Then....I have this revolver made by "another company" in which I had to send home for repairs. They replaced it with a new one 5 digits above the one I sent in. Then I have these two auto-pistols and one of them has the last three digits of my zip-code in the first three digits of the SN...which is 666.
