617 question

LGS had a 617-4 8-3/8" 10-shot, with box, for $600. I didn't know they made a 10-shot in that barrel length, but I like long barrels for my range guns.

Looked good, felt good, and the price seemed pretty good too, so I bought it.

How common was this configuration?

Is it safe to assume I paid market price?

Least common and least sought after. Lucky for you that it's your flavor.
While still a very good deal-I can't imagine a dealer offering one for a penny less, I don't see it as quite $300 under market.

Thanks! Looks exactly like mine, but the box was missing the paperwork, so maybe that's why it was discounted.

jdad- you can probably scrounge around the web (you know the places to look) and complete you package with ppwk and tools.

Box and paperwork aren’t worth that much. You got a good deal. I’d expect for it to sell around $800 but even that appears to be quite a bit lower that what some people are willing to pay.

"no photos, it never happened." I paid $500 bucks for all that you see here. A pre-lock 617-4, 6" barrel, 10 shot. get some plastic snap-caps or dry-wall plastic screw starters. NEVER dry fire a S&W 22LR 617.
