617 Trigger Release

I have multiple 617’s ranging from Mod-0 all the way to new production. One of my 4” models that I shoot most often lately has a noticeable rough spot in the trigger as it is being released after firing. What should I look for/clean to fix the issue?

The most common problem would be the interaction of the bottom of the hammer and top of the rebound slide as it moves forward to rebound the hammer. Polishing those mating surfaces will help.

Another place to look is the triangle hole at the bottom of the hammer block. You can smooth out the 2 long sides of the triangle with a needle file.
