Finally got a chance to run the fat little 624 a couple of days ago. Wow, what fun! And accurate too!! Put 50 rounds of Magtech 200gr, 50 of Winchester 240gr (both flat nose lead) and 18 Gold Dot 200gr jhp through it. I didn't go farther than 15 yards with most of my shooting at 7 and 10 yards.

I couldn't be happier and glad I was able to get it. I know some shun stainless and rubber in favor of blue and wood but not me. The Combat grips don't work for me and for serious work the Pachmayr Compac gives me the best grip.

These are great revolvers. I love shooting mine too but have not really found a load that I would call accurate. My 3" 625 shoots great with anything I can stuff in the chambers. I plan to work on loads in a few months when I retire. It will be a fun project. I like the feel of the tapered barrel over the 625.

It's about time you got out and put it through its paces. Was beginning to wonder. I like the serious look of the pachmyer grips too. I put the set that I picked up on my newest 45acp " ugly duckling" and. They feel pretty good. Now I just need to get it out to the range myself. Work keeps getting in the way of my fun though.

Thanks guys, I feel really lucky to have scored this one. alde, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Magtech ammo shot. At 10 yards (admittedly not very far) the shots grouped together to point of aim, all touching in single action. In double action I had no problem keeping all the above grouped together at center mass.
