I would be happy to find a prissy one for $550. I am not fond of round-butt N-frames, but that is about the only issue I would have with the gun - and of course you can mitigate that with stocks of your choosing. They used to be very popular around here but I think some of the gun-game rules have changed in recent years that now prohibit a 5-inch barrel. I rarely see a nice used one for sale, and when I do the prices are considerably higher.

To give you some idea of their capabilities, IDPA banned the 5" barrel from competition because it was too accurate and "unfair to others". So S&W came out with the 4" version. My 5" of the same vintage will put 220 grain lead wad cutters through a clover leaf from 45 AR cases at 10 yds if I do my part. Will not part with that gun. Dave_n

I really wanted one, and my LGS got one in on trade. I promptly took my 625JM, and traded it for the used 625-3. I really believe I got the best part of the deal. It had the original stocks, an extra set of Hogue's, the box, and the papers.

I put on a set of Ahrends Retro Combats, and it's turned out to be one of the sweetest shooters I've ever owned. That extra one inch of barrel makes the balance just out toward the muzzle, which suits me just fine. It's accurate, and I love the trigger.

Even at $600, it's a good deal; at $550, it's even better. Good luck.

600 is a great price. I see these go for over 800 on gunbroker all the time. Buy it!!!

I paid $495 for one back in 2000... no box or papers. One of my all time favorite revolvers.

I would try for the 550 but I would go with the 600 if necessary. I would buy it for sure.

Mr Dennis the B, that is one B__A__ Pistola sir! Happy New Years to all the fine contributors and members of this great site:)

I also would say that is a great price. I got mine from my wife for Christmas 2 years ago NIB and she paid just north of what they are asking.
