Check this out:

Pictures are not especially enlightening. I do see a 625-5 45 Colt Classic barrel grafted onto some kind of N-frame. This item was described as NIB. I sure would have liked to have seen the box end label on this gun. I suspect this is some sort of gunsmith cobbled together project. The buyer shelled out some bucks for this piece. I'm thinking that lettering this gun's serial number will reveal something entirely different left the factory. What do you expert collector's think??

There was a run of them with some sort of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation scribble on them. I believe this is one of the over-runs, without the etching. It should letter as being factory original.

This gun is not one of the model 25 Rocky Mountain Ram editions. That gun was produced in 2004 and had a blued frame and SS cylinder.

Another forum member did send me some additional info on this gun.............a pic of the box end label:

Product code is 100930...........Covers two known runs, the 1993 run for the 625-5 and the 1995 run of 48 with SSframe and blued cylinder chambered in 45ACP. A pinto offered in 45Colt for the 1995 run is not mentioned in SCSW #3, but this gun's serial # of CLS00xx dates it at 1995. Also present is the "SPECIAL" notation after the 625 and 45cal line on the box label. The label has a spec order # of 1000. I don't know what to make of that. Perhaps this gun was cobbled together from leftover parts by S&W. Something that needs to be addressed for SCSW#4. Hopefully, the new owner will get this gun lettered and shed some light on this unusual N-frame. If it shoots anything like my 625-5, someone has a superb shooter at the very least!

625-4 genuine or not

I too was confused and asked the seller the day before for a pic of the end label and to verify what the dash number was inside the crane. he never verified what was inside the crane even though i e mailed him over a two day period and even bid on his gun.He did send me a pic of the label, however.
You would think a seller would respond to a bidder in the hopes he would keep going.here is a picture of the gun and the end label. Hope someone knows if its real and rare or maybe not as Tdan thought

Please change the model number in your heading from 625-4 to 625-5.
If someone is trying to research they will not find the link.
