I read that some model 25 revolvers in 45 LC had oversize throats so does this issue also apply to the 625-9 in 45 Colt? I only recently got into S&W revolvers and looking for a nice Mountain Gun in 45 LC. Oh, and is there info on the original box that tells the date of manufacture? Thanks!

Not to worry, the 25-9 has chambers that should measure about .452. The issue was corrected around 1981, at the time of the transition from pinned to unpinned barrels, perhaps slightly before. That said I have models from both eras and never noticed a difference in accuracy.

The four digit number under "spec ord." is the Julian date for when the gun was shipped.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what years the 625-9 MGs were made?
