625 Mountain Gun-- QUESTION

I have a 686+ MG. Heck of a nice revolver, and it does not have that cursed ugly full lug barrel. I also have a 629-4 4" at Bowen's for conversion to .45ACP/AR and although it costs a chunk to do that, I gave up on looking for an MG.

I've given some thought to finding a reasonably priced N frame and doing the same. Can you buy the chamfered cylinder from S&W ? ?

I went with the 629-4 for a few reasons which may not be good for all. One was that it is stainless. Another is that it has the upgrades, aka enhancements. A third is that I read an article on his website about a 629-4 that he had set up for himself and I wanted something pretty similar.

My original idea had been to get a beater 4" M28 and do such a project; depending on what you find as a base gun, you could save $300 or maybe a bit more.

Doug, I would want a stainless revolver also. I was thinkin' maybe a M657, in .41 Mag. I don't believe that they are much sought after, although they DO have a cult following. I'm gonna check out Bowen's website. Thanks for the info......
