Just bought my friends 625 model of 1989 5" in box with everything. The bill inside was 450.00 in 1996, Its mint. He decided 500 was a fair price I jumped on it! I tried the action and its even better than my Python, both single and double! Cant wait shoot it. I know this gun has never been touched but am amazed at the double action pull that comes to a little click before the final drop of the hammer. Are all Smith's this smooth or was I just lucky?

The 625 revolvers of 1989 seem to be smoother and better fitted than many other models but even so it sound like you got a cherry model.

You got a great deal on a nice revolver. They have a real reputation for accuracy. Selling mine was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. I don't know if they are typically better than other models but mine sure was smooth.

Sound's like you made a good buy! I paid $500.00 for one sight unseen that turned out to be really hammered, but it still shot like a champ.

Excelent find. I stumbled across one last week and made it mine.
You had better take you friend out for a free lunch, many times.
