627-1 Target Champion

Welcome to the 627 club!

OP, your example doesn’t appear to have a checkered top strap/barrel. Is the 627-1 Target Champion have a different product code than the regular
627, 627-0 or 627-1, which all have checkered top straps and barrels.

Thanks all!

The gun is an enigma to me - like new in several places, quite worn in others.

Yes, the top of the barrel and frame are checkered, I'll take some more pics later and post them here.

I believe these 'Target Champion' models were shipped off to Wischo in Germany (1996 or so?) where they were given a tuneup. From Germany they found their way all over Europe.

It all boils down to this: if it shoots well, I'll hang on to it. We'll see at the end of January, hopefully...

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the extractor is the new style. I think the cylinder has been replaced.

Top and bottom

It's taken a bit longer but here are some additional pictures of the top of the barrel to show the bead blasting and serrations.
Also, some pics of the proof marks added in Germany - they match on the bottom of the barrel and the frame and on the cylinder face.
