Just picked up this rare bird. I’ve read it’s a one of 150 RSR Distributors run. In aluminum PC case with all docs and other stuff from factory.

Congratulations on your find, not a common variant by any means. According to my research and copies obtained of factory letters from Mr. Jinks there were 208 627 3" V-Comps produced for RSR. It's big brother the 3" 629 V-Comp saw 206 units produced, also for RSR.

I do not have the "actual" letter for either. A friend and fellow SWCA member owned the 627 for a while and had it lettered. I obtained the info on the 629 from a for sale add on the internet. I have a photo of it somewhere; I will try to find it for you.
