Did S&W ship/sell any 627PC in the late 90's witha Doskocil case? Just viewed one w/ S&W labels on the end. Thought all the PC pistols came w/ aluminum cases. Checking the Standard Catalog 4th but so far have'nt found anything.

Yes.. Apparently the early 627 PC version shipped in the Doskocil case. Mine shipped in 1997 in the Doskocil case with end label and a gold Performance Center sticker on the top. It is an RLM 0215 serial number.

The only aluminum PC case that I owned came with a 2001 Model 386PD. My later PC Model 627-5 (2010) came with a smooth gray plastic PC case. The "SCSW 5th Ed." talks about the PC aluminum cases being provided with the PC guns from the 1990s to 2004, when the cases were replaced with embroidered gun rugs. S&W also introduced the standard blue plastic case for most guns in 1997.
