A seller has posted a 629-1, 3" with factory combat grips with an asking price of $1,500.00. It appears to be in 95%+ condition.

The factory combats are about $350 on their own. If that is an OTD price it's about what I would expect nowadays.

Gone are the days of N-frame bargains, especially those that came from the factory with barrels of 3 to 4 inches. The 3 inch barrel, back in the day, had a rather small market, so S&W did not make tons of them and that makes them valuable today. Also, back in the day, many people would toss the factory wooden stocks in the spare grip box at the gun shop, the sock drawer, or trash, so factory N-frame stocks, especially target and combat, are valuable today. I'd for a factory 3 inch 629-1 with original combat stocks, in today's highly inflated dollars, $1200 would be a bargain, $1500 would be a fair price.
Even before the plandemic I sold one on gunbroker exactly as you described 3” 629-1 with factory combat wood stocks for $1,500. That didn’t include shipping. For that time, I’m guessing the buyer had a bad case of the “gots-to-have”. I thought it a little high at the time but not unreasonable.
I’d say $1500 as a final price is fair especially these days.
