Is there anything on the box label that indicates that the gun has the "E" feature. The revolver I am looking at is product code 103650 and ser# BEE 4640. Is this the genuine 629-2E article? Thanks.

I am not too smart ( that is what my wife says) What is a 629 2E? Thanks, Bob

That's the Endurance Package and was comprised of the elements of the 629-2 and 629-3 engineering changes - beginning with those models designated with the "E" suffix.

The impetus for these changes was the popularity of Handgun Metallic Silhouette, where a gun would see more, constant use of full magnum loads than was previously ever expected.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

It seems all the 629-2e guns have longer cylinder stop notches which was the last of the endurance upgrades. If you look at older 629s you should be able to tell if the notches are longer or shorter

The longer cylinder stop notches are the easiest way to tell whether an M29 or M629 has the endurance package or not... aside from a -E in the cylinder yoke as in the M629-E that this thread is about that is...:D
