629-3 classic 5" GOT IT!

Beautiful gun at a steal of a price! I have the same gun, purchased new in 1993 for about the same cost you paid, IIRC. I was stationed on a ship homeported at Kodiak Island at the time. It was my frequent companion when salmon fishing the various rivers on the road system.

They have a (well deserved) reputation for accuracy. FWIW I've tried a few different grips but always come back to the factory Hogues.
 
Here are some pictures of the 5" 629-3 classic with her siblings. 6" 629-3 classic hunter unfluted and 3" 629-4 lew horton classic hunter unfluted. I put the combats on the 5" and stowed away the silver medallion rubber hogues.
