629-4 classic front sight help Update

Got a good deal on this 629 at a pawn shop because the front sight is missing. The pin is there, as well as a spring loaded plunger. Any help on what the sight looks like, where to get on, and installing is greatly appreciated. Also has a few scuffs, not scratches, I’d like to polish off without messing up the satin finish. Any and all help and suggestions greatly appreciated!

Called S&W last Wednesday afternoon and the sight is on the gun today, no charge. Kudos to S&W customer service!

You have a few choices. Take a look at Brownells. I have red and green Hiviz FO that I rotate between a 5” 629-3 and 6.5” 610-1.

I seem to remember that the 629-?, came with a black red ramp type front sight but there was also a classic dx that came with a small set of interchangeable front sights. The sight sets may be available from Smith and Wesson or another supplier of Smith parts. All would work on the standard classic model. The sights are easily changed but I haven't done it for some time, utilizing the cross pin and the plunger. Someone with more recent experience will likely fill you in better.
