hi i have a 629-5 classic dx 6 1/2 inch nib,was thinking of selling it for a 4 inch or shorter barrel,i have a ruger 77-44 rifle and thought the shorter barrel would comp the rifle well.what do you guys think?

I think I would try a cross draw holster for the 6 1/2" first because DX's are hard to find. Then save up for a mountain gun or an even more carry friendly 329PD.

Go ahead and sell it and get something you are going to use. Since your DX is still new in the box, it is not being used, and serves you no purpose, unless you are a collector only. A 4 inch Mountain Gun, or one of the new L Frame .44's would make for a nice carry gun in a pancake holster. Personally, I don't mind carrying a 6 inch tube gun, as long as I am not trying to conceal it, and a cross draw holster can make drawing easier for some.
