629-6 PC question

Gentlemen,
I bought this Performance Center 629-6 for a bit over $1000 about a year ago. It's my first and only Smith and I LOVE it. My question is: Apparently I paid a premium for the PC and I'm curious as to just WHAT did I pay for? How is this gun different from the non PC models ?

So am I to assume no one knows just what it is about a PC gun that makes it "special"?

Could you post a picture of your revolver? That would help to tell you more about your PC gun.

But typically the PC guns have a factory action job, have custom work such as barrel porting, different grips than a standard gun, have forged parts instead of MIM, etc. And there is a limited number of guns made.

But to me the PC guns have the quality (for the most part) that all S&W revolvers used to have up until the modern era guns with locks and MIM parts were introduced.

Mapko, I have the 657PC (.41 Mag). The upgrades from a standard issue 657 include: A trigger job, a special & turned barrel (cylinder gap closely adjusted for tighter fit, more energy delivered down the barrel), special (and very nice) grips, non-fluted cylinder, the gun is hand fitted with forged parts and precision tuned. I have several non PC S&Ws in the same frame (625 Mtn Gun, 625 Night Guard, 625 JM, 610, and a 629 Mtn Gun), all are great guns but the Performance Center is unquestionably a large step above and IMHO worth the extra money.
