Hey guys, I was at a pin shoot about a year ago and saw a fellow shooting what he said was a performance center 629-8. It had the barrel weights. I have not been able to find one sense, and for that matter even see a picture. I absolutely loved that pistol and can't describe how much I want one. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

Thanks everyone,
Kent

I believe you are talking about the 629 hunter model. It had little cylider weights that can be added or substracted into a hollow spot under the barrel. I am pretty sure they call it the "stealth hunter".

I have a stealth hunter and it does not have the weights in the bbl. I have seen the model your talking about but not sure what they are calling it. It could possibly be a performance center gun. A call to smith would get your answer.

The 629 Universal Champion has removable barrel weights. Did it look like this?

It indeed was a pc gun. It looked very close to the stealth hunter but was stainless with the barrel weights. I believe that the cylinder was not fluted as well. Very similar to the universal champion but with a 8 and 3/8" barrel I believe. I am about 99.9% sure it was a pc 629-8. I remember asking him twice.
