I picked up a 629-8 and was wondering how can i tell when it was produced.thank you in advance

Hello Chief, My SCSW has serial number production dates up to 2004. I have no idea when the -8 change came into effect, maybe someone else can narrow that down. If you post the serial number on the bottom of the grip strap, I'll see if it's in the book.

Is there a fired cartridge case with the date on the envelope ?
