Is this wear pattern on the top of the cylinder stop normal? I have not seen it before. 629 with 200 factory rounds mix of magnum and special. Turn line looks fine, cylinder notches are normal no sign of peening and gun locks up tight with perfect carry up. The stop moves up and down freely when pressed. Curious as I see two wear spots on top. I always put a drop of oil on it after cleaning.

Looks like normal wear from the stop's contact with the cylinder during rotation and lock-up. Nothing to be concerned about.

I wouldn't recommend putting a "drop of oil" on the cylinder stop after cleaning. This practice will eventually cause problems in the action, including accumulated debris and old lubricant.

That is the place on the cylinder stop contacts the cylinder causing the turn ring, they will wear together. This is absolutely normal and has nothing to do with rounds fired.

Looks like whatever that is that S&W calls a blued finish these days is wearing off at the contact point. Nothing to worry about, but if it does worry you, just pack that 629 into a plain brown box and send it to me for... uhhhhhh... "disposal". :D
