629-2 rolls backwards

You might want to measure your endshake to confirm it's not over .002".

My 29-2 had excessive endshake & once I tightened it up the backwards skip problem ended, no matter what load I shoot in it.

Thanks for the very useful suggestion.

I haven't actually measured the endshake on mine, though it doesn't "feel" excessive. I'll measure it just to confirm that it is within spec.

If the new cylinder-stop spring doesn't solve the problem, then installing some shims to reduce end-shake may be the next easy thing to try. Assuming it is out of spec.
