i've thought about this a bunch. i think that the perfect s&w revolver for me is a stainless 44mag with a 5" tapered barrel. the barrel should essentially look like a model 67 with a 5" barrel. it should have adjustable sights. the front sight should be a plain black ramp with several elevation lines for gauging distance shots. the trigger guard should be thinned so as to allow the trigger finger access very quickly. the front of the fluted cylinder should be beveled. top strap should be checkered like a 27. it should have a grooved backstrap and also a grooved trigger, but not a wide trigger. the hammer should be the same as a mountain gun's, i don't know which it is but it feels right. even though i like the round butt, i think that it wouldn't look as good as the square which should be covered in bright white ivory or stag with medallions. and since we've gone this far, we might as well make it a 5 screw and regulate the screws. that's all.
