I'm not sure if it can be done, but I would love to see an all-stainless steel, 2" J-Frame Centennial with no internal lock, in .38 Special +P, and a 6-shot capacity. Yes, 6-shots. Think of it as a S&W 640 Detective Special.

I'd be OK with a 649 Detective Special, too.

There isn't enough room for 6 shots of .38 in a j-frame, that's why they developed the . 327 Federal.

I would rather see the Model 12 and Model 10 and I may as well add the Model 64 come back in round butt snub nose configuration.

What I have thought of doing is seeing if one of the talented stock makers on this forum could replace the small 1/2" washer medallions on a set of high horn Centennial stocks with a set that fit standard frames like my 1990 M-640. High horns would really make these guns sharp looking.

Sigh! Back to Barnes & Noble tomorrow to see if SCSW3 is still on the shelf.

if you want something really wild, consider a K frame, top break 640 style 357!
