I have a 642 that I have had for about 13 years. It was always somewhat hard to eject the casings out of a couple of the cylinder holes since I purchased it. Wrote that off to the ammo expanding and the short ejector rod.
After many rounds of use there was one that just would not eject. Had it cleaned thoroughly and looked at by an armorer that I trusted. He could not find an issue with it and upon trying it again still had the same issue. Was advised to take it to a machine shop and upon doing so the owner was quick to point out that I had a slight bump in one of the cylinder holes.
Not sure if this was the issue from the beginning or something that developed over extended use. Purchased a new cylinder, had it put in by a gunsmith and since that date there is a huge improvement in the ejection of spent cases. It has not been this smooth since the purchase of the 642.
Not saying that is your problem but if you know someone with good eyes might have them take a peek.
