Hi guys. I have been trying to locate either a replacement screw and paddle for one of my 645's. I have been told you can use the paddle decocker from a 4506-1 as well. I was wondering if anyone knew where the screw and/or paddle decockers could be purchased, either for the 645 or the 4506-1 if it indeed will work. Thank you for any help or response. Pics coming soon!

I secured the screw omn the left safety with blue Lotite to eliminate the problem of a lost crew or lever. I do not know of a source for the parts byt Numrich or Brownell's would be a good polace to start if S&W does not have the parts.

S&W discontinued the paddle retaining screws. They only retrofit slides with the newer 4506 style safety barrel assembly. That way they shrink the number of 2nd generation autos in circulation that are prone to problems. Like TSQUARED wrote, a drop of Loktite solves the problem forever, that is if you can find a screw. I do not know of a source, but you could run a WTB ad here and see what turns up. Some gunsmiths also tossed out the early style parts but a few of them probably kept ones from guns they upgraded.

I would imagime the screw is a fairly standard size If you have a local hardware store who would not object. bring in the slide and see what size Philips head screw fits it. The paddle is another issue - no known source.
