Does anyone know if it's possible to disassemble 645 mags without damaging them? And if so, how?

Obviously, they don't have a removable baseplate like the later 3rd Gen mags do. I have attempted the "1911 method" (compressing the spring, retaining it by sticking a punch through one of the viewing windows, and removing the follower), but the follower seems to be permanently attached to the spring.

I'd like to get mine apart to replace the springs since they're old and fatigued, but I am not sure how to do so without damaging them. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to help so I pulled out my 645 and 4506s. Unfortunately, all my mags have the removable plastic baseplate.

Take a small, (jewelry,) screwdriver and raise the "leg" up to clear the magazine body flat. I use a small rawhide mallet to get the plate started. They are usually tight. Well hopefully.

The first picture is of the "leg" raised and plate started off. The other picture is of what you're dealing with in getting the baseplate off.
