Guys, have you had any light strikes with Blazer Brass in .40. It does this with Rimz poly moon clips as well as the .35 thickness metal.Do you think that the .42 thick would solve the problem. It happens about 4 or 5 times a box. I hate to quit shooting it because I get it at Wal-Mart cheap, compared to gunshops. There is no endshake in the revolver, so that is not the problem.I will order the .42 thick if you think that will solve the problem.

Hi, try tightening the strain screw....If that does not work try different ammunition combos with the moon clips, or different moon clips all together. She may not like that brand of ammunition you are using with the moon clips...OR that brand of moon clip..

I use the steel Ranch Products moonclips (never measured theeir thickness) and have not hads any problems. That being said as the previous responder mentioned CCI primers are the hardest in the industry. See if federal ammo would solve your problem. I reload and have my 646 tuned to a ver ylight DA pull which requires the use of federal primers.
If switching ammo does not solve the probelm then you will have to install an extra long firing pin from either Cylinder & Slide or Apex Tactical.

I have used RIMZ 646 clips exclusively in my PC 646. My 646 has a Cylinder and Slide extended firing pin. I have never had a FTF with it.

S&W Keeper, First try an .042 clip. The variation in groove position may be causing light strikes. The .042 should move the case head back a bit and cure ur problem. It has worked for me on my 646. Good Luck

I had some of the same issues. I use Rimz clips with the Apex Tactical pin and the problems went away.
