thank you for the information. I have a 2 inch 2 1/2 inch and a 4 inch but I think I like the 3 inch best. Have a blessed day.

Congratulations on a nice find! A 3" Model 686 Plus is one of my favorite "go to" EDC revolvers (OWB) when the weather permits. As you know, the weather here in Florida usually forces us into casual clothes and pocket carry (mine are a PC M&P 9 Shield Plus or a Model 642-2). Enjoy!

Nice acquisition! My 3" M65 has been my official woods walking gun since I purchased it in the 1980's. I hand selected it out of 4 the LGS had in stock and it is still like new. I do not shoot it on a regular basis as it is for my purposes a dedicated woods revolver. Of course I do practice with it once in a while, but it is really no different than any other K frame I own. IMHO the 3" M65 and the 2.5" M66 (and their counterpart blued versions) are some of the finest revolvers S&W has ever made. While I will admit the M66 /19 2.5" is better looking and more symmetrical, the 3" M65 shoots a bit better, at slightly higher velocities and has no adjustable sights to worry about moving, snagging or breaking. GREAT revolvers! ENJOY!!

An excellent acquisition. Awesome carry revolver. I sent mine to S&W for the “combat revolver package” which I highly recommend. I’m partial to bead blast and they did a great action job. But mine was done almost 20 years ago. Can’t speak to how it comes out now. The hammer and trigger were polished later.
