Put a down payment on a 651-1 .22 mag with a 2" barrel yesterday. What a cute little J frame with target sights.

I've never seen one of these guns before - did S&W make many of them?

page 267 3rd edition S&W book states a RSR special made in 1999. 1241 made. also reported 1998 for Lew Horton. does not state how many for Horton.

Clang i had one 2 or 3 years ago. Stumbled upon it used unfired in a local gun shop and snapped it up. It was a great, neat little gun. Like an a-hole however i traded it for something i have long since sold and forgotten and wonder if i will ever see one again. Hold onto yours and enjoy it.
