659 slide

Anyone ever have a slide crack near extractor?
Looks like a very small one right over it

A picture would really help. If the alleged crack is on the inside, below the extractor, then it may be just some metal flash. If it is actually on the top then a picture is needed.

Actually that is normal. When the hole is drilled for the extractor the metal is very thin on the bottom.

The thin part can be peeled away and you will see the arm of the extractor.

This does not affect form or function.

I had to save your picture to enlarge it some more. You may have a bit more cracking than I've seen before if it I see it correctly. In line with the slide no issues. If there are sideways cracks as there appear to be then check them to see if they are only over the hole for the extractor. Still probably ok.

Thank you. I thought is was not a big issue but wanted to double check
as I was shooting 124 gr NATO out of it and thought it maght have caused the small rack
I did remove the piece
