I bought a used 915 slide off of eBay and my plan is to have it cerakoted black to make my 5906 a two tone. I stripped the safety decocker/striker down and removed the sights with my pusher(rusted sights were a pain) but am stuck on the extractor, it will not budge despite kroil, wd40 etc. I think someone put in the wrong pin or installed it backwards because I used the correct punch size and put it in a vise and it’s fused in there. Not sure if it’s rusted or what but after I started to mar the slide in frustration I quit. Would like some info on a smith that could remove it, possibly cerakote the slide, then reinstall the extractor with a fresh spring(old one may be corroded like others in safety/decocker were) and check tension. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I second what Heymatt says . Both of them have worked on my S&W's , and they are nothing but artists . I have Guzzi's 1st ever S&W that he modified . There's actually a post on it and you can follow him as he works on it .

BMCM took a 745 from me and it was worse off than either of us knew . Again , there's a post on it , and you can see his work , which is nothing but stellar . As you can tell , I think a lot of both of these guys , and no one else touch's my guns .

Awesome info, thank you both. I do a lot of tinkering with my various guns but this one seemed like something above my skill level. Never had a pin that I just couldn’t get out if I tried, so I figure I’ll just do this the right way and avoid mucking things up. And while I’m at it get the slide set up correctly out the gate.
