Who sells these? Is there any reason I couldn't put one on my 65-5?

Thanks

You might check to see if S&W or Numrich (Gun Parts Corp) has them, or they might be able to help you locate one. I'm not a gunsmith and can't tell you 100% if they will fit or not. I would think they would. If this gun is used for self defense I wouldn't do it myself, I don't like shrouded ejector rods. But that is just my opinion.

The shrouded vs. un-shrouded ejector rod argument is well taken. The shroud helps protect it, but while shrouded, the rod cannot be used to help open a stuck cylinder. I'll have to think a little more on that one.

Is the ejector rod used for 4" and 3" barrels the same?

Thanks

I believe so. The barrel should fit right up, reminds me of the barrels that they put on the Brazilian M10-10.

Ralph

I have a 13-? with a 3" and a 65-? with a 4", they look the same length to me.

The three inch and up all have full length ejectors. For me, that's part of what makes the 3" K's so desirable. FWIW, the last time I noodled around with putting a 65LS barrel, on a standard 65, Brownell's had the LS barrels available. They did NOT have the 3" for the 66's available (dammit!)

The whole reason I want a 3" over the shorter barrel is the longer ejector rod. I still need to decide between the shrouded or un-shrouded barrel, though.

Has anyone had S&W do a barrel swap? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see about price and time-frame.
