An LGS I try to go to at least once a month put out a Black Friday ad of all the goodies they had for sale. One of them was a 2-1/2" model 66-1.

I went out there today and the 66-1 was still in the case. Excellent condition, no box or anything, bank-vault-like lock up. The unusual feature was that it had a case colored target trigger and target hammer. Price was $799.

Does anyone have knowledge of whether or not any 66-1 snubs came from the factory with the TT & TH configuration?

I’ve owned a number of 66-1 in both 2.5” and 4”. All had the flash chrome finished hammers and triggers, the 4” were the only ones that came with target versions but it’s possible the snubs could be special ordered with them. Maybe that happened and the factory only had the cc finished versions available. Only a letter would say for sure. Hope that helps.

I can picture it, but I don't think I'd like to shoot it or carry it. That's too much for such a compact revolver.

I think I would like the .312" smooth combat trigger and the semi-target hammer, and the color case hardened finish would look great on a stainless gun. A 2-1/2" RB M66-1 is my EDC. (see my avatar)

A Model 66 snub with TT and TH? Well I never….
Well, actually I did - swapped out the factory for the above.
Topped it off with a set of Mr. Grashorns pre-war shoes.

Love it! Fat snubbies! My model 10 fatty..

This thread certainly begs for more 2 1/2” Combat Magnum pictures, so I’m all in- a few weeks ago I lucked into this mint 66-2 at the LGS where I work. It has one of the best double actions I’ve come across in a while and the hammer and trigger are Targets. The seller said he bought the gun brand new with the TH/TT.
It was originally wearing UM combat grips but I threw on a set of Magnas and an old school Tyler T-Grip and a gorgeous set of Elk Stags from our very own bigmtnman for the photos.

M66 Snub

Speaking for myself, the target trigger would have to go. I have a K38 with target trigger and it's great for single action, but not so good (in my opinion) for double action.
My M19 snub has smooth .312 trigger and semi-target hammer, a configuration that is ideal for me. Also, it has simple black sights, no RR-WO.

Agree that if it had from the factory with the TT/TH they would be flash chromed.

Had to look and found it interesting that a 2.5" 66 w/ RR/WO/TT/TH was only cataloged in 1981.

I have "a few" 66s in various "-" configurations and bbl lengths.. I have yet to see one with case colored TT and TH.

Congratulations and hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. PS- Patrick makes some wonderful elk stag grips.
