66-2 (2.5" barrel) picked up today

I'll jump on the 66 snub bandwagon again!

I also just got a 66-2 snub (well.....don't have it yet, but won the auction and will ship soon)

Once I take delivery, i'll post serial # for some birthday help!
Paid $655. for mine (plus shipping and FFL fees=$700.)

Seller claims it has barely been test fired......(we'll see...)

Congrats on your new-to-you 66. I've never heard anyone regret buying one, only selling. My 66 no dash was my 1st S&W years back, and these things still excite me the same today.

I hear you! What was the reason behind discontinuing them? Demand go down? Focus on autoloaders? I'm new to the forum but it didn't take me long to realize that plenty of folks still like these six-shooters.

S&W had problems with the cut away barrel at the forcing cone on the K frame Magnum's.
They have replaced them with the slightly larger L frame's. Nice guns, but the K frame snubs are handier for concealment. And, they work well if a few limitations are kept in mind. They were always intended to be a compromise gun, in the interest of carry-ability. A good trade off, in my opinion.

Best,
Rick
