66-3 "floating hand"

Do all 66-3s have the floating hand? Is S&W still able to swap these out for the non floating hand? If so anyone know the cost? Is this really something I should be worried about in a carry gun?

Sith Lord,

I asked the same question on the "Smithing" Forum before I bought my Model 66-3, 2.5 inch. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem and that Smith & Wesson would change out the floating hand if I wanted it done. If I get to where I want to change it I'll have my local gunsmith change it out. He's a very competent Smith & Wesson Gunsmith. YMMV
