Have a 686-6 model 164284 with a half-lugged 5" barrel in good condition and am trying to determine if I'll sell it. Not many out there, so am looking for pricing insights. Inherited a 5" 27 recently, which is taking its spot in the safe.

Thanks!

OP hasn't been here since posting 6 + months ago...

And both the 686 pictured and the model 620 are 7-round .357 L frames, but in addition to the different barrel lengths the 686 has a one-piece unit and the 620 has the barrel/nut/shroud combination.

I got suckered into bumping an old post!

I bought one new when they came out.I sold it some time last year for $900. I probable should have kept it.I liked it a lot, but I still have to many in the safe .As we become older we need to thin the collection.I have moved 26 of them.

I don't have any cash at the moment (new insurance requirements) but I would very much like one of those, minus the FO front sight. That underlug has always been what has kept the 686 from being my favorite revolver, although I'm still very fond of them.
