I purchased a 686-5 ( i guess) with 6"barrel, serial nr cdk6xxx. Everything tells me its a -5. Its got the hammer in frame, angle on releasebutton. But trigger and hammer is silver, not black as i see the mim triggers/ hammers are. My technical english is not the best, so ill hope you understand

Many people polish the hammer and trigger for a uniformed stainless finish, does look good.

If you open the cylinder the Model number will be stamped inside on the frame.

The serial number places it in 1999 manufacturing time frame.

The -5 has MIM parts and frame mounted firing pin but no lock.

This model shipped in the SW&W blue plastic box.

Thanks for Your quick replys! Its in a blue Box yes! Couldnt be anything else than a -5 since its got the fireing pin in frame and no Lock, but i just wanted to make sure since there, to my lack of knowlegde, could have been inbetween models!!

Any suggestions on grips? Got the Stock grips They work fine, but my triggerfinger is a little bit to close to the trigger, less than 90 degrees. To be Perfect, the grip should be 1/4 inch longer/ wider or so. Also its a little bit to short. Its not a big issue, and the gun comes up in perfect angle. But since um gonna use it for competion, every detail counts. But not as much as trainingm so ill spend my Money on ammo first!
