686 8 shot

just got back from a deployment and there was a box waiting
waiting for me a 686 2.5 inch 8 shot! how long have they been
available?

Must be something brand new....
The 7-shot 686 Plus's cylinder is pretty much "maxed-out" with 7 charge holes...I can't imagine one with 8.

Are you sure this isn't a model 627?

I think the only 8 rounds that would fit in a 686 would be .327 Federal Magnum or smaller, but S & W doesn't make one...must be a 627 as Skeeziks mentioned.

Can't fit eight rounds into the L frame. Sounds like a 627. Which is way cooler (and a lot more expensive) than a 686.
