I was wondering?Did the square butt 686,1994 model,come with wood grips? Mine has the factory rubber.I think they are Hogue?

S&W started shipping 686s with Hogue rubber grips in 1993.

the wooden L frame targets will fit your 686 however...

Whasn't it from the 686-4 model?
I have 2 686-3, these are SB wooden grips and one 686-4, this is a RB hogue grips
