I have one. Also with the unfluted cylinder and wood 3-5-7 grips. Of course it has the lock. But answer me one question. If you shoot a perp with it will he know if it has a lock or not. Case closed.

Nice one cruzans; I like the unfluted look. I have a the exact same on but fluted and still love it. They are nice shooters but it takes awhile to get used to shooting 7 rounds instead of normal 6.

LOL. Nope, but he'd know he had 7 holes and not just 6!

Nice-looking gun!

I was dumb and got rid of all my 3-5-7 guns, missed the 3-incher the most. Replaced with fluted 3-incher and it's not the same....

This started life as a 3" 3-5-7...now with several personal modifications...

I love the 686, my experience with it goes back to 1985 with a 4". For me my 3" 686-6 has become my favorite all-purpose EDC. It's not too short and not too long and carries very nicely in a Milt Sparks SS2 in the waistband or OWB in a Simply Rugged. It's pushed all others out to a distant second place for EDC. I'm retired so casual attire makes it easy to carry and a single speed-loader goes along in a pouch.

Here is one way to look at it... 'The Plug'

So what's with unfluted cylinders? Makes a heavy gun heavier and adds rotational inertia to the cylinder that requires more effort to overcome in cocking or double action.
Plus it looks weird.

Like the look of the unfluted cylinder. I actually had to go check mine to make sure it was fluted....or not:rolleyes:
Was the unfluted a different "model" or order number/code? I can't remember ever seeing or noticed seeing a 686 with an unfluted cylinder. Nice in any case.
